N88TR's FarCry Files

First Amerika.Atspace, then FarCry Files, now N88TR's FarCry Files. Whatever the name, the creator was the same, N88TR, as is the game, FarCry. Starting with a handful of uncertain maps, has expanded greatly and offers you over 30 individual Multiplayer maps, as well as a Singleplayer map.

With great plans for the future of FarCry involving more MP and many more SP maps, N88TR's FarCry Files will continue to strongly move head into 2008 and beyond!

MP DosRings

I created a map by request over on the FileFront forums, a MP_Privatewar. After zipping it up and sending it off, I looked at the map and thought it'd be more atmoshperic with some towering islands around it, almost humbling the player. This is that map, and sniping is difficult task, unless you reach the top of one of the islands where the rifle rests.

I have updated the WIP page to reflect MP_SandFortress's game type change to Assault. It is to be my first and last Assault map I will make for FarCry, a bit of a going away present for the FarCry community. No permanent plans of moving away from FarCry completely, but it will accompany my other plans to distance myself from FarCry temporarily. I have also done some work to the SP Maps page, where I removed the link to SP_Traumatic 1.0, and have replaced it with the version 1.2 link. 1.0 is no good to anyone and in terms of improvements, 1.1 is much better, though it's far from a perfect map. I have no wish to complete SP_Traumatic 1.2, and I do not want to waste my time doing things I do not want to do, so there.

I do however have plans to make other SP maps, but of a slightly different nature: exploration maps. I also talk about this in my blog.

MP SandFortress

Reminiscent of past desert maps, but this one is unique: custom brushes! Still under heavy construction, there is a basic outline that I'm keeping the maps to: red vs blue castles seperated by a vast desert that is sparsely populated by palms, small lakes, and 2 semi-secret areas for each side. Blue gets some caves [a first for me], and Red gets a super replenishing station. Vehicles aplenty, and sniping a premium, this map is sure to get everyone excited that is still playing FarCry.
